What do the lights on your Fibre box mean 💡🔴🟢 #
✅ A quick glance at your fibre box can tell you if you lost connection to the fibre network in your area or if your router is unplugged.
✅ The most important light is labelled PON or BROADBAND or FX – if this light is red or off your connection to the upstream fibre network is down. This can be caused by a fibre break or the fibre network equipment in your area could have a fault. In some cases, this light will also flash if your fibre signal levels are low.
✅ The light labelled LAN or ETHERNET will tell you if your router is connected. If there is traffic flowing the light will be flashing. If your router is connecting at 100Mbps and you have a faster line, you need to think about getting a router with a Gigabit WAN port.
✅ It’s okay to reboot your fibre box anytime you suspect something is could be wrong with your fibre line.

Power Supply and Fibre Patch Cable Replacements #
Should your fibre box power supply be faulty, or should the fibre cable between the fibre box and the wall box break (patch lead), you can open a ticket and we can send your fibre network to replace these items, but this will usually result in a call-out fee from the fibre network. It could be less expensive to source replacement items yourself.
Power Supply (PSU) – in most cases a standard 12V DC PSU will work with 1.5Amp rating or higher. You can also buy a DC-UPS which has 12V DC output. You can find these PSUs on local eCommerce stores, or your local hardware or electronics store. Check the fibre box power connector before buying a PSU.
Fibre Patch Cable – You can find these in various lenghts at Scoop. For example: 1m Fibre Flylead SC-LC SM 1M UPC-APC. Just check the connector types before you buy.
